Tanya Karreman is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#21223) with BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and holds a Master of Education in School Counselling, a Bachelor of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care. She has spent the past 30 years working with children, adolescents and women in various professional settings, and as a mother of 4 young adults knows first hand how difficult, exhausting and at times overwhelming the various phases of parenting can be. She believes that everyone is trying their best, but that sometimes life can be crushing and difficult to navigate on our own. With much empathy and compassion, she considers it an honour to be invited into someone else’s story and to walk alongside them, together exploring ways to bring about change and find healing. Using a trauma-informed, holistic (mind-body-spirit) approach, Tanya draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to guide her sessions, believing that no two clients are the same, and that there is no one-size-fits-all method. She has received additional training in the treatment of anxiety (GAD, Panic Disorder, OCD, Social Anxiety & Phobias), PTSD and complex trauma.

In her free time Tanya loves having coffee with friends, tending to her houseplants, getting out for walks while listening to podcasts, and staying active on Chilliwack’s amazing hiking trails. If you would like to book a session with Tanya, you can contact her at [email protected] or text her at (604) 997-1542.
