Joan Goosen is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (# 6190) at TheraLife Center who is passionate about helping people reach their goals for relational, emotional or mental wellness and wholeness. She has a BA in Psychology and a MA in Professional Counselling. She is a member of BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and is registered with Crime Victim Services which funds counselling for victims of crime (click here for more information).
Joan works primarily with women and has experience helping adults, teens and children reach their goals for healing and change. Concerns you may want to address can include depression, anxiety, behavioural or relationship challenges, or the impact of grief or loss, or an abuse or trauma history. Joan takes into the consideration the whole person – body, mind, spirit and relationships – in the professional helping relationship believing all are interrelated. She has training in and uses therapies including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Expressive (Play) Therapy, Art Therapy or Christian Counselling, depending on your (or your child’s) needs and preferences, in promoting growth and change (click here for more information).
